So as you probably read yesterday, there was a jailbreak for iOS 7 released yesterday. If you didn’t, well here is a recap. The hack is called evasi0n7, and it is compatible with iPhones, iPods and iPads running from iOS 7 to 7.0.4.
Now some more info. Apparently, the evad3rs only released evasi0n7 because Chinese pirating company, Taig, paid the evad3rs $1,000,000 US to put Taig in by default. But now that’s changed because, simply, the evad3rs released evasi0n7 because the team didn’t want any other teams to release their jailbreak for Apple to fix.
Now, if you don’t know how to jailbreak your device. Here it is.
What you’ll need:
A Mac or PC
The Mekul Difficulty:
Step 1: Download evasi0n7 for Windows/Mac on evasi0n.com
Step 2 PC: Extract the download onto your desktop and open the evasi0n folder. Right click on the evasi0n.exe file and select Run as administrator.
Step 2 Mac: Double click the app.
Step 3: Make sure your device passcode is disabled, if you ever set one up.
Step 4: Plug in your iDevice to your PC/Mac.
Step 5: You should see a message on the tool that it has detected your device, and the Jailbreak button should brighten up a bit and you can click on it.
Step 6: To begin the jailbreak process, click that button and sit back.
Step 7: You’ll be asked to tap the evasi0n7 icon on your device’s Home screen at some point, which will complete the process.
Step 8: Once the jailbreak process has completed, you’ll be taken to your Lock screen. From there, you can Slide to unlock your device and where you’ll find the Cydia icon on your Home screen’s second page. When you click on Cydia, it will prepare the file system, reboot, and open Cydia up again and it will resume like normal.
Note that there are quite a few bugs in Cydia and with the jailbreak. Only some tweaks and apps work. Here is a list.
