Mekul’s iDevice Battery Saving Tips

Hey everyone! Mekul’s back with another post, today on how to save your iDevice’s battery with these simple steps! So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Brightness

To save some battery life, turn down the brightness to an appropriate level for you to see, otherwise you could be wasting your battery. To set your brightness level on iOS 7, swipe up to Control Centre and set your brightness there, but if you are on iOS 6 or below, go to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper.

The Loop

To keep your iDevice’s battery fresh, you need to do in what I call ‘the loop’. You should only do this every month or so or when you notice that you’re iDevice is draining battery faster than usual. Charge your iDevice to 100% and then drain it to 0%. Charge it back up to 100% and you are done!

Use Games and Other High Storage Apps Efficiently

Anything like GTA or Asphalt 8 drains your battery fast. So use them only when you need to and close them properly by double tapping the home button, in iOS 7 swipe the app up to close, in iOS 6 hold the app until delete icons appear and close your app.

Keep your iDevice out of Extreme Heat

Your iDevice might overheat and could actually drain your battery because it is trying to keep your device going.

That is it for this post. Sorry I have not been posting a lot, but stay tuned as more posts will be coming throughout the week! Signing off, Mekul.

Snapchat has been hacked! Have you been hacked?

Ok. You have probably heard the news. You know by the title. Snapchat has been hacked, again. 4.6 million people have been hacked and a database of information has been posted online on SnapchatDB but has been pulled. Here is what Hackers at TGDaily said.

“This database contains username and phone number pairs of a vast majority of the Snapchat users. This information was acquired through the recently patched Snapchat exploit and is being shared with the public to raise awareness on the issue. The company was too reluctant at patching the exploit until they knew it was too late and companies that we trust with our information should be more careful when dealing with it. For now, we have censored the last two digits of the phone numbers in order to minimize spam and abuse. Feel free to contact us to ask for the uncensored database. Under certain circumstances, we may agree to release it.”

Lucky, I don’t have Snapchat. I realised that is has poor security and you can get something better like Instagram.

So, in this post I will tell you, 1. How to find out if you are hacked. 2. If you are unfortunate enough to be hacked, how to delete your account.

Are you Hacked?

That’s a simple one.

Go to either GSLookup or Snapcheck and enter your username or phone number. It will say if your account has been hacked or if you are safe.

Even if you aren’t hacked, you might want to consider transferring to another service, like Instagram.

I am hacked! How do I delete my Account?

Ok, I am sure you want to delete your account. Most websites actually do not allow you to delete your account. Luckily, Snapchat allows you to do that.

1. Go to https://support.snapchat.com/delete-account

2. Login with your username and password.

3. Enter your password again for security reasons. Note: You can not get your account back.

If you want to be 100% sure, try to login and if your account has been deleted, success!

The Snapchat team haven’t made a statement about the hacking! It is a bit of a let down when 4.6 million people got hacked.

Sorry, I have not been posting a lot.
