Office for iPad has been released!

Here is a surprise for Microsoft Office and iPad lovers. A press release is being hosted by Microsoft’s new chief executive in San Francisco this morning. The CEO said Office for iPad is being released today.

Office for iPad requires Office 365 for editing features. The subscription will cost $6.99 a month, or $69.99 a year. If you don’t want the subscription, you can view documents, presentations, spreadsheets, but you can’t edit them. The subscription buys you access to Office 2013 apps for Mac, Windows and mobile. The apps include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and more.

The apps will be native iPad apps which means they will be individual, native iPad apps. The apps will be released today, free of charge. Word, Excel and PowerPoint for iPad support standard Office files and integrates with Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage for syncing content across devices and platforms. Unfortunately, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, etc. are not supported.
